Wanganui Youth of the Nation Conference
|

Above: Friday evening youth rally at Youth of the Nation Conference
This month we spent several days in Wanganui. I was asked to speak at an annual youth conference they run there called Youth of the Nation. With every youth ministry in that region involved in some way, you could see real unity amongst the young people.
This year they had record attendance. On the 2nd day I could share my story and testimony of coming to Christ, followed by the multimedia Gospel presentation to all the day delegates.
On the 3rd day I took an elective titled "evangelism...how is a person drawn to Christ?" It was great to see young people eager to learn more about this.
We enjoyed our time meeting the other speakers and youth pastors. It's always encouraging and refreshing, listening and learning from others..... especially those in the same boat working with young people.

The power of the gospel across generation and denomination
|
|
Over the last four weeks, I have spent time in a Baptist, Anglican, Brethren, New Life, Newfrontier, and AOG church.
It always amazes me how much diversity there is in the body of Christ. However, there is one thing I find everyone is passionate about... the power of the Gospel to change lives.
Above right: Anglican church before everyone filled it
I spoke at an Anglican church while in Wanganui, and was encouraged to see about a dozen people respond to accept Christ. Many of these were adults in their 40's and 50's. One lady sitting on the back row responded with tears.
I got on well with the 'Vicar' and spent the afternoon with him and his family (he has 6 kids!) brainstorming different ways of reaching young people.
That night I spoke at Faith City Church also in Wanganui. After the service I was able to pray for people for healing and other needs. This is something we have begun to do more often.

We have been involved in a lot of different things over this last month. Some challenging, but mostly really good. We thank you for your ongoing support and for playing such an important part in what we do. Partners like you make this all possible. We couldn't do it without you! Yours sincerely,
Sam & Michelle Bayly
