This ministry has been running since 2002 and was birthed out of a desire to help people understand what the gospel actually is. In 1996 Sam and some friends got together at Rangitoto College on Auckland's North Shore. With a passion to see their friends come to know Christ, they started lunchtime events to communicate the gospel. Hundreds of students began to come, and after 8 months they hosted their own conference for other high school students at Bays Christian Fellowship (now City Impact Church). Calling this Christian group "The Rock", other schools in Auckland started similar groups, and 3 years later Sam's friend Simon Greening spread this in over 60 schools throughout NZ. | Towards the end of his University Degree at Massey in Auckland, Sam was approached by one of his lecturers who taught an entrepreneurship paper, to go into business with him and another friend. The business focused on the growing demand for digital video media. Developing this business during his 3rd year, the partnership saw great success. The plan was to move into the New Steven Tindall Enterprise centre at the end of the year , a business incubator, and go full time developing this concept.

Hence Sam pulled out of this venture and found himself 2 months later travelling around New Zealand with an old friend Simon Greening speaking in lunchtime assemblies with up to 600 students. With little experience, this was like a baptism by fire, and Sam had to learn very fast.

| In Jan 2002, Ps John Steele was moving to Wellington to take over a church in Kapiti Coast. John asked Sam to come down with him and oversee the Youth Ministry. For the first two years Sam lived with Ps John and Julie Steele in their house, and during this time learnt a great deal about church life.
